So, in the wake of reading this terrifying shit, Postcard and I started chatting, as you do, about the zombie apocalypse. Here are some things Postcard and I enjoy: zombie media, common sense, and YELLING ABOUT STUFF. Thus, for your reading pleasure, please enjoy our simple…
I had a dream last night that could have just created a whole new world. I was watching as if it were a movie for parts, then I was in the present at others. It started in this pastel glen full of tri-colored trees. Lemon/daffodil yellow, lime green, and tangerine orange trees that wrapped to the sides with age.
First, I saw a group of people - a religious congregation. It was lead by a man in off white robes who was preaching from a book to a group of 20 some 15/16 year olds. He asked if anyone there knew and would baptize/welcome a new member. They were all waist-high in water. One girl raised her hand and they all looked at her. She was a bit younger than the others with sandy brown, shoulder-length hair. Her teeth were perfect and she had rounded features, including rounded almond eyes. Freckles dotted her face. She was eerily creep.
Cut to an indoor scene. It dark and looks to be underground in a large, grey temple. The new girl was covered head to toe in silver paint to match something like a Grecian statue or a gargoyle. She was leaned forward onto this door contraption that acted like a garbage chute (or the hinge was like that) so that if she pushed down with her abdomen it would lower her head into the water. The brown haired girl was there and as she placed a hand on the nape of her neck she gently pushed her down. One, two, times. On the third, the air changed and my view moved to under the water. It was tinted green, but I could see her holding the other girl under the water. All eyes were open and she panicked. Almond eyes surged with evil delight and suddenly this creature appeared. Face of a skeleton/Alien and the body of half human half snake or scorpion. I remember violet purple being apart of its scales or around its head. Sunken eyes barely visible glared and danced with delight.
I then switched to a wold view of this little convenience/general store. It was all white and grey on the inside with a number of unlabeled cans etc inside. There was a counter on the east side with high shelves above it. One door. A couple children RAN into the store and slammed the door, locking it. They climbed to the shelves and tried to hide themselves behind the boxes. In came a beast en cue with the scorpion spirit. It was on all fours and had a dog/wolf like air. Muscles instead of fur, and that same purple color covered its body in hair or something like it. It launched itself for the children.
I was there, then, in the meadow. The trees shifted softly, the fruit hung heavy on the branches. The three colors converged and separated in the air. We were there, we three, staring each other down. I had a sword and I could see my hands holding it confidently. I swung and they both came at me. The scorpion slithered up a green tree and hissed or yelled. Time slowed down and I swing in two small circles around the beast’s head. I could see the swipes of the sword as I made impact with its neck. As its head fell from its body, all the yellow trees and fruit fell to the left and died.
That’s about it. But I like it. I think its man’s dominance over creatures and our inability to dominate the spirits. Blah.
tomorrow, may 22nd, is my 22nd birthday. I can’t believe it. I thought everything would be so different.
